Tapestry wallhanging on display in the Augustinian Church, Shop Street, Drogheda. This piece was commissioned by the Augustinian Community to celebrate their 700 years in the town. It features motifs from the Harry Clarke stained glass window which can be seen in the church. The image of the Grandmother or Sean Mhathair depicts feminine wisdom in a time of change. Acceptance of the stages of abundance, decay, stillness and new growth as a part of life…something to live with..to dance with.. Not to fight against.

It is woven on a cotton warp at six warp ends to the inch. The weft consists of fine wool and mercerised cotton. Size is approximately 6ft by 4ft.
